Public Exam – Idioms poem

Public Exam – Idioms

I have a monkey on my back.

The ship has sailed, and my internal marks were out.

My parents did not want to hear it from the horse’s mouth.

As they felt it would be the devil quoting the Bible.

They spent their whole nine yards getting that esteemed seat.

It cost them an arm and a leg for that extra tuition.

To address the elephant in the room is not a piece of cake.

I am scared stiff as when it rains, it pours.

I am now in a snowball’s chance in hell.

Finally, they felt there was no use in crying over split milk.

And decided to let the sleeping dogs lie and left the room.

It is as right as rain and I believe every dog has its day.
